Introduction
The AICTE (also known as the All India Council of Technical Education) offers a special scholarship for students who are not able to fulfill their education fees. The scholarship, offered by the AICTE is named the “AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme." The Saksham Scholarship Scheme is a financial aid program created to assist students with disabilities who are pursuing technical education in India. The fellowship aims to support higher education and give physically challenged students access to career development possibilities.
This program allows qualified students to obtain financial aid for up to Rs. 50,000 each year to help pay for their tuition, housing costs, and other associated costs. Students studying undergraduate, graduate, or certificate programs at
AICTE- approved schools nationwide are eligible for the grant.
Eligibility
Students who have been admitted to a technical program through a centralized admission
procedure, such as JEE, GATE, or another pertinent entrance test, are eligible for the AICTE
Saksham Scholarship if they have a minimum of 40% impairment. The scholarship is given out
on the basis of merit, and the committee that makes the selection is chosen by AICTE.
The criteria for the students should be:
1. having a household income of less than INR 8 lakh annually.
2. be granted lateral entry admission to the first year of a degree or diploma-level program
or the second year of a degree or diploma-level course at any institution that year that has
received AICTE approval.
3. a special needs student with a disability of at least 40%.
How do students apply for this scholarship?
Those students who are interested in applying for this scholarship have to follow some steps. During the stated application time, interested students may submit an online application for the scholarship through the AICTE site. They will have to submit documentation of their impairment, an acceptance letter, and their academic transcripts, among other supporting papers.
Step 1: First, select the "Apply Now" link located below.
Step 2: Select "New Registration" under "Applicant Corner" from the menu.
Step 3: Next, choose "Click here for other scholarship schemes hosted on NSP for AY 2022-23."
Step 4: Carefully go over the guidelines, select the task, and click "Continue."
Step 5: Determine the state of residence, the scholarship category (Pre Matric), the kind of program (scholarship program), and the applicant's gender, and enter their name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address.
Step 6: Provide the bank information (bank name, IFSC code, and account number) in step six.
Step 7:Select either a bank account number or an Aadhaar as your means of identity, then click the "Register" button.
Step 8: An OTP will be created when the cellphone number has been validated.
Step 9: Fill out the application by entering your login details.
Step 10: An application ID and password will be generated upon successful submission of the application form and may be used in the future.
