Introduction


The goal of the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme (CSSS) is to benefit students with excellent academic scores to attend a university in the United Kingdom for advanced study. This scholarship is provided to graduate students from developing Commonwealth nations. This will help them to contribute to the development of their homelands but who are unable to do so due to monetary limitations.

LSE has five prizes for full-time study on one of the seven programs that qualify for the 2023–2024 academic year. The programs begin in September 2023.


Eligibility


  • To avail of the CSSS, candidates must be citizens of one of the given Commonwealth nations and have their current residence there.

  • The candidates should have not pursued studies lasting a year or more in a developed nation.

  • They would be eligible only if are unable to pay for their studies in the United Kingdom either directly or via their families.

  • They will depart for their nation of origin as soon as their scholarship is over.

  • Candidates must possess a first degree with a first-class or upper second-class standing.

  • As there is no pre-course English Language education offered under these scholarships, candidates must also attest that they speak and write English well enough to immediately begin their studies at LSE.


Scholarship Amount


The complete cost of an award holder's studies in the United Kingdom, including airfare there and back, will be funded by participating in the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development (FCDO) and United Kingdom institutions. The complete cost of tuition, as well as a maintenance stipend (£18,192 or RS 18,73,776), will be covered.

Along with a £200 (or Rs 20,600) study travel grant and a grant of up to £225 (or Rs 23,175) for master's thesis expenses, there is additional funding available for up to 10 kilograms of accompanied extra baggage for scholars returning home after the conclusion of their program.
