Introduction


The Popular Front of India (PFI) is a socio-political organization that operates primarily in the southern states of India. The organization provides various services and support to marginalized communities, including educational assistance through its Loan Scholarship program.

The PFI Loan Scholarship program provides interest-free loans to economically disadvantaged students who are pursuing higher education. The loans are meant to cover tuition fees, books, and other related expenses.


Selection Process


The selection process for scholarship programs in India can vary depending on the specific program, but generally involves the following steps:

  • Application: Students must first apply for the scholarship program by filling out an application form and providing the required documents, such as academic transcripts, certificates, and other supporting documents.


  • Eligibility check: The scholarship provider will review the applications and check if the applicants meet the eligibility criteria, such as academic qualifications, financial need, and other requirements.


  • Screening and shortlisting: After the eligibility check, the scholarship provider may conduct a screening or shortlisting process to select the most qualified applicants for further consideration.


  • Interview or test: Some scholarship programs may require applicants to undergo an interview or a test to assess their knowledge, skills, and suitability for the scholarship.


  • Final selection: Based on the application, eligibility check, screening, and interview or test, the scholarship provider will make a final selection of the successful applicants who will be awarded the scholarship.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed class 12

  • Belongs to financially weaker sections of the society

  • Have good academic records

  • For students pursuing post-graduation, graduation, diploma, or any other higher studies, course duration should not be less than a year

  • Preference will be given to journalism, law, and social work studies


How to apply for the scheme?

The application can be done online only with the following steps:

Step 1: Click here to start filling out the form

Step 2: The form has four sections, fill each section.

Step 3: In section 1, fill in the personal details as name, gender, Date of Birth, course, address

Step 4: In section 2, fill in the family details

Step 5: In section 3, the student has to fill in the current and the previous course details

Step 6: In the last section, the students will inform about their area of interest and the amount they require to complete the course.

Step 7: A unique id will be sent to the applicant's registered email id and mobile number

Note: Before applying, the candidates need to be ready with all their academic details, photo, contact details, etc.


Last date to apply

You can submit your online applications till the scholarship deadline. Submit your application in July and August each year. By the end of August, the application procedure will get closed.


Results

  • After the scholarship announcement of the result,

  • All candidates will receive an email with their application status.

  • This may take about 3 months after the application deadline, but it may take a little longer.

  • Students can check their application status on the official website www.popularfrontindia.org.

Terms and Conditions

Popular Front has so far distributed INR 5.2 Cr to 6482 (3890 boys and 2592 girls) students. The main aim is to educate students to contribute back to society financially through scholarships or by providing social services in the coming future.
